The collections of works from musician Randal L. Carr range from Neo-classical with a touch of jazz to shamanic drumming. These CDs highlight the independent character of his music.
Neo-classical & Jazz:
Morning in Venice is the debut CD. Randal has developed a style that is a cross between neo-classical and jazz. This album includes eleven songs that were composed between 1978 and 2009. The recordings were made in Stuttgart, Germany and Portland, Maine between February and August 2009. From peaceful piano solos to upbeat ensemble arrangements, Morning in Venice represents a wide range of moods.
For thousands of years, the drum has been an important means of helping with meditation. Each sequence on the drumming albums begins with an introduction which includes an ensemble of instruments such as triangle, wooden flute and special sound effects. After several minutes of drumming, the end of the piece calls the listener back from meditation.
